MNPS Presents Revised Operating Budget for Fiscal 2008-2009

The administration of Metro Nashville Public Schools has revised its operating budget proposal for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. The revised plan outlines the dollars necessary to maintain current service levels and fund district priorities to help all students meet No Child Left Behind requirements. The revised spending plan was presented to the Finance Committee of the Board of Education for June 2. A hearing with Mayor Karl Dean is scheduled June 5, with MNPS presenting the plan to members of the Metro Council June 9.  Members of the Metropolitan Council must give final approval to all school district funding.
